Clifford J. Clark Biography

Clifford Clark, LLMSW, CSAT-Candidate, earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan with a concentration of Interpersonal Practice: Mental Health. Clifford also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Christian Ministries from Point University in Atlanta, Georgia and is continuing his clinical education as a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist Candidate through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (I.I.T.A.P.) -- the leading sexual health organization in the world.

With a clinical specialty of marriage/couples and sex addiction, Clifford firmly believe that the strength of the household is contingent upon the quality of the union within that household. Consequently, he offers the tools to enhance and rehabilitate respect, trust, and communication as well as mental, emotional and sexual health within the relationship.

As a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist Candidate, Clifford treats the full spectrum of sexually addictive behaviors and paraphilic disorders. He provides both individual and group therapy for clients who present with hypersexual activity and also offers therapeutic support for traumatized partners of sex addicts. He understand with sexual addiction, time is of the essence, and swift action toward facing and battling it leads to inevitable success on the road to recovery.

He also works with Individuals and Families. As a counselor, Clifford utilizes an array of therapeutic models including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy (NT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) models. His clinical style is integrative and is customized to the personality and presenting needs of my clients.

Additionally, as a former pastor and clinical crisis-interventionist, Clifford has over fifteen years of experience in working with suburban, rural and urban/inner-city populations that present with interpersonal relationship complications, mental illness and substance abuse/addiction. He has a passion and skill set for treating individuals and families who have experienced family violence, sexual abuse, and a broad variety of mental, physical, and emotional traumas.

Clifford recognizes that trust, confidentiality, honesty, transparency and integrity are the foremost essentials in the therapeutic alliance between the counselor and client, and is particularly committed to each of those fundamentals in practice.
